How to get your business found in ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI search

30 October 2026 · 2 min read

More people now ask an AI assistant instead of a search box: "Who builds websites in Bangladesh?" or "Which software suits a pharmacy?" The assistant answers in a few lines and names a few businesses. This is sometimes called generative engine optimisation (GEO). The aim is to be one of the names it gives.

Nobody can guarantee a mention, but you can make your business easy to find, understand and trust.

1. Be clear about who you are and what you do

AI systems build their answer from text they can read. Put plain statements on your site: what you do, who for, where you are, and what makes you different. Avoid vague slogans. "We build custom software and AI automation for businesses in Bangladesh" is far more useful than "Innovation at your fingertips".

2. Use structured data

Add schema.org structured data (JSON-LD) to your pages: Organization, Service, Article, FAQ and Person for your team. It tells machines exactly what each page is, with no guessing.

3. Answer real questions

Write pages and articles that answer the questions your customers ask, with a short direct answer first and detail after. FAQ sections work well because they match how people prompt assistants.

4. Let AI crawlers in

Check your robots.txt. If you block AI crawlers by accident, you will not appear. Allow the well-known ones, and publish a sitemap. You can also add an llms.txt file: a simple Markdown summary of your site written for language models. It is a young convention and no one promises it is read by everyone, but it costs almost nothing.

5. Build trust signals

Name your founders and team with real profiles, show client work with details, keep your business information the same everywhere, and earn mentions on other reputable sites. Assistants lean on sources that look established and consistent.

6. Keep your site fast and readable

Fast, clean pages with real text (not text inside images) are easier for every crawler to read.

Start here

  1. Fix your titles and descriptions.
  2. Add structured data and an FAQ.
  3. Publish three genuinely useful articles.
  4. Check robots.txt and add a sitemap and llms.txt.

We build these into every site we make. See our website development service and the SEO checklist for small business websites.
